Raymond DeAntonis
Raymond Robert DeAntonis, 79 of Morgantown, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017 a Ruby Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Morgantown on February 17, 1938 a son of the late Joseph DeAntonis and Nellie (DePropero) DeAntonis.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Jean (Jones) DeAntonis.
Raymond graduated from Morgantown High School, class of 1955 and attended West Virginia University. He served his country in the United States Army from 1957- 1960 as a meteorologist. He enjoyed sky diving. He, along with his family, were owners and operators of Jo's Globe Distributors in Morgantown for many years. He was currently owner, along of with his brother-in-law Jack Gamble, of Greenbag Road Properties.
Raymond enjoyed gardening and time spent with neighbors and family at the pavilion at his home. Raymond was a friendly man who touched many people and had many friends. He had a tremendous work ethic. He most enjoyed time spent with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one son Joseph Raymond DeAntonis and his wife Kate of Pittsburgh; two daughters Victoria DeAntonis of Fairmont and Christina DeAntonis of St. Petersburg, Florida; three grandchildren Gina DeAntonis, Michael DeAntonis and Mia DeAntonis; two brothers-in-laws Jack Gamble of Morgantown and David Jones of Morgantown; two nephews Keith and Tracy Gamble and their children Annmarie and Jack Mason all of Morgantown, and David Duley of Pennsylvania, and one niece Leigh Ann Gamble of Morgantown.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Jo Ann Gamble.
Friends and family will be received at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont on Monday from 1pm to 8pm and on Tuesday from 10am to 11am. The service will be at 11am on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at the funeral home with officiating. Committal services will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover with full military honors provided by the local Military Honor Guard. Following grave side services, friends are invited to the Frosted Mug to celebrate Ray's Life.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the WVU Medicine Children's, P O Box 8200, Morgantown, WV 26506.
