Carolyn Ann Rudy Byrne, Registered Nurse, 65, of Fairmont, passed away February 23, 2018 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born November 15, 1952, in Fairmont, the daughter of the late Cleo "Doc" and Mary Haddix Rudy.
Carolyn was a 1970 graduate of East Fairmont High School.
She earned her LPN Degree from Manassas Virginia and her RN Degree from Delaware.
She retired from United Hospital Center. She had previously worked at both Fairmont General Hospital and Monongalia General Hospital. She enjoyed bowling and traveling, she also loved her cats Milky and Sammy.
She is survived by her sons, Daniel Byrne of Fairmont and David Byrne of Richmond, Virginia and her very special grandchildren, Zachary Byrne and Devin Byrne and a great granddaughter, Ma'kya Byrne.
Carolyn is survived by her loving companion of ten years, Jim Moody.
Also surviving are her brothers, Edward (Linda) Rudy, of Elkins and Steven (Kim) Rudy of Charles Town and her sisters, Cathy Laudrille, of Fairmont, Sharon Curry and fiancé, Marvin Ice, of Tennessee, and Christie (Randy) Rodgers of Virginia; several nieces and nephews and the father of her children, Bill Byrne, of Virginia.
Family and friends may pay respects at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont on Monday from 5pm to 8pm and on Tuesday from 10am to 11am. The funeral service will be at 11am on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Zinn officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
